Keeping a logo QR scannable
Adding a logo and color is safe as long as contrast holds. A few practical rules:
- High contrast — dark dots on a light background. Avoid light-on-light.
- Keep the logo small — around 15–20% of the code's area so the pattern stays readable.
- Leave a quiet zone — keep empty space around the QR; don't crowd it with text or edges.
- Test before printing — scan with a few phones (Android & iPhone) from a normal distance.
- Print it big enough — at least 2×2 cm as a safe minimum; the further the scan distance, the larger it should be.
Does this QR code expire?
A QR that holds a direct (static) link never expires — as long as the destination page still exists. What you can't change is its content: if the URL changes, you'll need to make a new QR. For destinations that change often, put your own short URL in the middle as a redirect.
